Wireless in your wellies or LCD Soundsystem in your sandals? We give you the lowdown on the best festival line-ups at home and abroad for 2016
For chart favourites: V Festival
20th – 21st August 2016
Weston Park, Shropshire and Hylands Park, Essex
You can expect Bieber Fever this August as V Festival celebrates turning 21 this year with a headliner that’s not much older than itself. Sharing headlining duties with fellow chart royalty Rihanna, Justin Bieber will join weekend campers and a star-studded line-up that sees Sia, David Guetta, Faithless, Years & Years and Little Mix pack their wellies for appearances at Weston Park and Hylands Park. Campers can also start the party earlier this year with BBC Radio 1’s Summer of Dance season opening at both parks on Friday 19th August with Annie Mac, Eric Prydz and Danny Howard.
For dance music: Wireless
8th – 10th July 2016
Finsbury Park, London
With Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Rihanna all part of its headlining past, Wireless has some big shoes to fill for 2016. Fortunately, it has turned to the highest earning DJ in the business, Calvin Harris, to give the three-day line-up some star power. Joining Calvin on its more dance-inspired roster this year is also electronic duo Chase & Status and Norwegian DJ Kygo. The 1975, Future, Craig David’s TS5, Boy Better Know and Jess Glynne also join the weekend bill.
For foodies: The Big Feastival
26th – 28th August 2016
Alex James’ Farm, The Cotswolds
The Big Feastival celebrates five years of impressive food and music in 2016 with a line-up that sees Mark Ronson hit the main stage for a DJ set and Michelin Star chefs Raymond Blanc and Tom Kerridge host live cooking demonstrations. It doesn’t hurt that Jamie Oliver and rock star Alex James are the hosts behind this family-friendly festival! Expect music by Roisin Murphy, DJ Fresh, Ella Henderson, Grammy Award-winner Foxes and Norman Jay MBE, while you’re tucking into your gourmet burgers at this festival.
For sunshine: Coachella
April 15-17, 2016 & April 22-24, 2016
Empire Polo Club, Indio, California

With just over a month left until Coachella kicks off, it’s time to think about that schedule, so you don’t wear out your statement Lola sandals here. Reunions top the bill on this year’s California line-up with Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose and Slash joining the band on stage for the first time since 1993. LCD Soundsystem also reunite for the first time since 2011 and Arctic Monkeys vocalist Alex Turner, former the Rascals frontman Miles Kane and Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford are back as supergroup The Last Shadow Puppets. Ice Cube is hoping to convince his NWA pals to come together for the first time in 25 years, following the success of biopic Straight Outta Compton too.
